Sun Hung Kai Properties recently issued its first Sustainability Report based on the Global Reporting Initiative G3.1 guidelines. The report covers the company’s sustainable development performance in key economic, environmental and social aspects in Hong Kong during 2010. An independent consultant was commissioned to verify the assessment through group discussions and interviews with employees, non-governmental organizations, customers and investors.
The Dow Jones Sustainability indexes posit the view that sustainability is a business approach that creates long-term shareholder value by embracing opportunities and managing risks deriving from economic, environmental and social developments. SHKP believes in community investment, environmental protection, employee care and community service, and has been a constituent stock of Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index since 2010.
Readers can find the report at www.shkp.com under Corporate Social Responsibility or by clicking here. We value your opinions, so please tell us what you think by e-mail to sustainability@shkp.com.
We also offer special thanks to colleagues from various departments for their efforts and to members of the Steering Committee for their guidance and input.
